Service Highlight Grade 10

Every year I volunteer at the JDRF Gala in downtown Vancouver. It is a night of fun, fantasy and hope. My sister, Hazel, has type one diabetes so the event means a lot to me. I packed gift bags, helped set up the ballroom, and supervised some activities while working at the hotel. I had a lot of fun and I truly enjoyed volunteering there and attending the event.

Art Highlight Grade 10

Arts is arguably my strongest strand. I had an average grade 10 year in terms of my artistic ability, as I felt that it wasn't necessarily pushing myself as hard as I could. That being said, I think I created a very strong collage piece last year, and on the side also made a very interesting composition on the subject of a stylized bike frame.

Athletic Highlights Grade 10

My academic highlight for grade 10 revolves around the Mountain Biking season. In 9th grade I finished roughly 17th in the overall standing at the end of the season, but last year I pushed hard and improved that place to just 7th, over a 100 percent improvement. I really look forward to the 2013/2014 season. I was very happy with this result, as I believe it completed the 4 strand system for grade 10.

Academic Highlights Grade 11

So far this year, I believe i've done very well in academics. I have good marks in almost all my courses, achieving almost straight A's with a few exceptions. I hope to do better in French and Pre-Calc in the upcoming terms.

Academic Highlights Grade 10

During my grade 10 year at collingwood I did fairly well in the academic strand, but two points stand out from last year. First of all, I was struggling in math first term. I achieved only a 62 percent average in first term which was very disappointing. I worked hard, and was able to attain a 82 percent on my final report card, an impressive 20 percent gain. My second academic highlight from grade 10 would be my science expo project. My group and I researched and tested the malleability of metals after heating, and finished with a 94 percent and an honorable mention for gradewide presentations.
